The new fitout for TAL Australia’s Sydney office, created by Generate Interiors and delivered with lighting design by Aston Consulting, represents an elegant, contemporary workplace tailored for flexibility, connection and wellbeing. The interior features modern finishes, open collaboration zones, intimate breakout spaces and signature curved ceiling coves, bringing a strong design identity to the space.
Aston Consulting’s lighting design enhances the architecture while responding to the dynamic needs of a modern workplace. One of the standout zones is the lobby with its green wall feature. To illuminate this effectively, ERCO Parscan wall‑washers were used. Green walls in offices today contribute to wellbeing as well as aesthetic appeal, bringing biophilic benefits, better perceived air quality and a sense of calm and vitality for occupants. The lighting of a green wall requires uniform vertical illumination to support plant health and appearance.
Elegant curved ceiling coves throughout the office, including the boardroom, were highlighted using Coolon Alto CL linear systems. Alto CL is designed for curved cove applications, allowing lighting to follow the architecture’s fluid forms while creating a seamless glow that enhances both ambiance and function. Above the boardroom table, the curved cove glow is complemented by XERO Linear Lighting XERO 2.0 Beam to provide clear task illumination, balancing aesthetic and practical needs.
Supporting Aston Consulting, we also supplied a selection of premium ELS Flex luminaires to help bring their lighting design to life. These fittings work together to create layers of illumination, highlighting architectural features, enhancing the sense of space, and providing a comfortable and adaptable environment for the office.
The TAL Sydney office demonstrates how thoughtful lighting design, when integrated with architecture and interiors, can elevate the experience of a workplace beyond simple fitout, enhancing both atmosphere and occupant wellbeing.
