Parramatta (Burramattagal Country) is rapidly establishing itself as one of Greater Western Sydney’s foremost business and civic hubs. Anchored by major transport upgrades—including Sydney Metro West and Parramatta Light Rail—and framed by the City’s “Parramatta 2050” strategy targeting 150,000 new jobs by mid-century, the precinct is driving sustained economic growth across the region.

Working with ERCO luminaires alongside LightStudioMG on Parramatta Square, Jadecross has also had the opportunity to further enhance Parramatta’s built environment by delivering specialised  lighting solutions for Arthur Philip High School, Ventia’s Parramatta offices, and Westpac — ensuring precise illumination that enhances functionality, occupant comfort, and the region’s cohesive design aesthetic.

Building on that momentum, we expanded our impact into the public realm through a transformative lighting partnership with WSP, Cox Architecture, Ligman Australia and other key collaborators for the new Parramatta Light Rail stops. A custom Ligman post‑top totem‑pole luminaire was conceived to complement this architectural vision. Engineered with advanced Ligman optics and tailored mounting, the fixture enhances visibility, safety, and ambience—blending signage, ticketing, and illumination within one modular element.

Our contribution culminates in Parramatta Square, a $3.2 billion redevelopment by Walker Corporation that redefines Parramatta’s centre through six hectares and approximately 300,000 m² of integrated mixed spaces. The lighting strategy, executed with ERCO luminaires, was designed to “translate the architectural narrative into a language of light,” guiding circulation, shaping spatial hierarchy, and creating a distinctive atmosphere.

At PHIVE (5 Parramatta Square), ERCO Parscan and Eclipse spotlights deliver layered ambient, accent, and zonal lighting that fosters a warm, inclusive environment aligned with the building’s community role.

Environmental performance is core to the precinct. All towers achieved 6 Star Green Star certification, and the development holds a 5.8 Star NABERS energy rating. ERCO’s high‑efficacy optics, glare control, and interchangeable lenses enabled strategic luminaire placement that supports comfort, sustainability, and aesthetic ambition. Central to this transformed precinct is the refined lighting strategy developed by LightStudioMG, crafting spaces that are both intuitive and emotionally resonant. From daylight to after‑dark illumination, the lighting scheme punctuates architectural features with warmth and visual clarity—guiding people naturally and enhancing Parramatta Square’s identity as Western Sydney’s cultural and civic heart.
