Iconic to Sydney’s Western Suburbs is the renowned Canterbury Leagues Club. A popular destination for many locals and beyond, the venue supports its community with a range of premier facilities.
As part of a recent upgrade, the Club has introduced the highly anticipated ‘Showroom’. An events space for up to 500 guests, the new space features a state of the art immersive audio-visual system along with a dance floor and bar facilities.
With Altis Architecture behind the project having worked with the Club for over 20 years, their aim was to continue the resort aesthetic through to The Showroom. Lighting designers Haron Robson came together using detailed lighting to realise the client’s vision.
An coffered ceiling pattern made the decision to mirror its geometry with suspended extrusion, an easy one. Linear lighting solution SK45 by ELS was used in rectangular formations towards the front and back of The Showroom to offer a flexible solution. Nightfall downlights with 35 degree optics sit neatly within the extrusion alongside track which houses ELS Luxient 90 trackspots for more directional illumination. The SK45 was also customised with RGBW uplighting, inviting patrons for a kaleidoscopic and unique dining experience.
ELS Flex 150 Pendants with RGBW as well as Flex 70 Adjustable Downlights finish off the space while also creating variation for the new and exciting Showroom.
