Salesforce Tower was recently added to Sydney’s skyline as one of the newest and most outstanding architectural feats. Standing at 263.1 meters high, the Foster + Partners designed building is the tallest office building and second tallest building in the whole of Sydney.
As part of an epic $5 billion redevelopment for the Circular Quay precinct, the tower was named after software company Salesforce who occupies the top 16 levels of the Lendlease development.
Headed by Group GSA as the Architect of Record, the impressive execution of the Salesforce fitout had ARUP at the helm for lighting design. With bold colourful murals setting the tone for a playful yet highly functional interior, a combination of ERCO, Coolon and ELS luminaires create an inspiring workplace lighting design.
With panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, large meeting areas invite employees and guests to collaborate. Bold columns covered in greenery are positioned around the perimeter of the area, bringing the outside in. Cleverly illuminated by ERCO Gimbals, ensuring the continued health of the vertical green wall features.
Maximising ERCO’s willingness for project specific customisation, ERCO IKU downlights have been customised to suite the fitout. With over 1,300 of these on the project, the IKU’s ensure consistency, uniformity and high visual comfort which was a must. Tuneable white technology supports the Salesforce community with the staff’s mental health and wellbeing at the forefront. By echoing the natural spectrum of light as it shifts throughout the day, each employee’s innate circadian rhythm is mimicked which promotes productivity, comfort and positive health.
Each floor inhabits meeting rooms which provide ample privacy and silence in an environment where there are plenty of moving parts. Backed with textural panels, ALTO cove lighting by Coolon offers high efficacy by grazing the feature walls and providing plenty of ambient light.
